Counseling/Psychotherapy Services

Although I am active in scholarly activities, my first love is being in the room working with clients, helping them to pursue and maintain change that enriches their lives. I enjoy working with clients across the lifespan from many different walks of life–from toddlers to clients in later life–and provide comprehensive counseling services for individuals, couples, and families. My approach is collaborative, understanding, and caring, as well as evidence based. I use a state-of-the art outcome assessment system to ensure that your counseling is effective and individualized.

Whether you need some help adjusting to a difficult life situation, building self-esteem, or are struggling with a clinical issue like depression, my goal is to help you achieve long-lasting change.  My specialties include treating a wide variety of problems that couples, children, and families experience, including reproductive/and family formation issues (please see the bottom of this page), as well as trauma/grief issues, and mood disorders.

I am able to assess and treat a wide variety of difficulties you may be experiencing that have led you to seek supportive and compassionate care.

  • Harmonizing Your Home Program©2012: I have combined several of the most  effective child/family treatments available into a unique program. Using my HYH model, I have been consistently successful at reducing damaging child behavior (physical aggression, verbal aggression, compulsions, defiant and oppositional behavior, school refusal, tantrums, etc.) by 90 percent at the 2 week post-launch mark. The increase in safety creates a foundation to build healthier, more fulfilling family bonds. Positive family interactions effectively reduce symptoms. Progress made is resistant to relapse. Response to treatment is individualized and not guaranteed. Families with the best outcomes had motivated parents.
